Piemonte Regional Dinner

Friday, November 30th to Thursday, December 6th, 2007
Nightly from 5:30 - 9:30 p.m.

Located in the extreme northwest corner of Italy, Piemonte’s cuisine reflects the long, harsh months of this region’s frigid Fall and Winter. Wholesome dishes feature mushrooms and asparagus scavenged in forests nestled beneath the towering Alps, as well as the world-famous “tartufo bianco” or white truffle, a tuber worth more than its wait in gold.  Hearty beef recipes and flavorful cheeses merit big, rich wines, and here Piemonte needs no introduction. Barolos and Barberas are kings of the castle, flanked by a court of reds and whites like Arneis, Barbaresco, Gavi, Nebbiolo, Brachetto and Moscato d’Asti. Take a break from the chilly night air to warm your heart, soul and belly as we celebrate this region’s culinary delights.

Ancient Greeks called Italy, Oenotria, “the land of wine.” Today this title holds true from the northern, mountainous tip to the southernmost seaside and islands. Each appellation produces its own unique vintage particular for its microclimate and terroir, equating to approximately 1,000 types of red, white and bubbly produced throughout the country. Join Club VINO for an in-depth exploration of Italy’s world-class wines. Marco will select two vintages to showcase per month and astound you with interesting facts and anecdotes on its region, character and centuries of wine-making traditions.
