What is Risibisi Club VINO?

Club VINO is a Wine Club created by Marco Palmieri, co-owner of Risibisi Restaurant in Petaluma, California, born out of a desire to share his passion and love of Italian Wine with his friends and customers.

Marco has created what is arguably the best Italian Wine List in Sonoma County. Because of its delicate balance between fruit and acidity, nothing compares to Italian Wine when it comes to enjoying great food at the dinner table. Many of our friends and customers here in the heart of the California Wine Country are also starting to realize and appreciate this simple fact

Some facts about Italian Wine

Italy is the number one producer of Wine in the world, producing roughly 25% of all the world’s wine. Italians are the number one consumers of wine in the world, largely because everyone has wine with meals.

One cannot generalize when discussing Italian Wines. Just like its food, wine in Italy is regional and even within a region it can be so different that people get very emotional about doing it their “own way.”

The ancient Greeks called Italy Oenotria, “the land of wine.” Italy runs from the snowy northern Alps to the islands in the south, just shouting distance from Africa, and the entire country is covered with vineyards.

Italy is unique in that four seas surround it and roughly 80% of the country is hilly or mountainous. The exposed hillsides make ideal sites for vineyards and the combination of the sea air and mountains creates an amazing number of microclimates, which adds to the diversity and uniqueness of its wines.

Although impossible to pinpoint, it is generally agreed that over 1,000 types of wine are produced in Italy. Because of the ancient tradition of wine making and unique climatic and topographical diversity, Italy has a large quantity of native grapes, most of which only grow well in Italy.

How does Club VINO work?

Each month Marco will select 2 great Italian wines. A description of each wine, including information on its region, varietal and winemaker will be included with the bottles.

On the first Wednesday of each month the wine will be in the restaurant available for pick-up. OR, when signing up for Club VINO you may specify that shipping is preferred and we will send the wine to you on a monthly basis (shipping charges apply).

The monthly cost is $50.00. You subscribe or give a gift subscription to the program and we will charge your credit card. Visa and MasterCard are accepted.

As a member you will receive a membership card which you may use at any time when dining at Risibisi Restaurant to receive a 10% discount off your entire bill. No restrictions.

How do I sign up?

Sign up by calling 707.766.7600 or by stopping in at Risibisi Restaurant on 154 Petaluma Blvd. North in Petaluma, CA. We’ll have you fill out a simple Club VINO membership form and then you’re good to go. Cancel membership at any time with no penalties.
